Maxx is a handsome 6 year old Border Collie/Pit mix looking for his forever home.

Maxx lived happily with a very loving family for the past several years that unfortunately could no longer keep him, but they were able to provide us with lots of information about him for his future owners, so let us tell you a little about this good boy- Maxx is housebroken and crate trained, he actually loves his crate! It’s his safe place. He is dog friendly but has also lived as an only dog and done well so either situation could work for him. Maxx knows several basic commands and loves to do tricks for treats. Willow is a beautiful Husky/Shepherd mix with a wonderful personality. She came to ACS after her owner had to flee a domestic violence situation.

Krissy – ADOPTED!

Then one day Animal Care Society came along and told Krissy she was moving to Kentucky! Krissy hasn’t had the best luck at finding her forever home. You see, Krissy can be nervous when meeting new people. Because of this, Krissy would benefit from having a fenced in yard and an owner who is patient and willing to go at her pace when it comes to meeting new friends.

Krissy is very dog friendly, in fact she loves to play! My favorite thing about her is her kisses. She gives the best kisses and she is always the happiest girl despite spending so many nights stuck in a shelter kennel. She’s only 2 years old and around 40lbs. She loves nylabones and tennis balls, and being with her people.

Everyone here loves Krissy so much that one of her fans has even sponsored her. This means all that’s left for Krissy, is to find the perfect home and make it out of the shelter one last time.

I’m a young guy at just 10 months old. I watch the world go by and I just want to experience so much. I do well with other dogs and would do well with some human kiddos as my family too. Delilah and her brother Finley came to ACS with their mom.  Momma Sid was quickly adopted and now her two precious babies are ready for their turn at their forever homes.  Momma Sid was on the small side at around 20lbs, but the two pups are growing fast and will be roughly around 30lbs/medium size. Georgie is a happy-go-lucky Lab mix in search of his forever home. Georgie was pulled from a high kill shelter in New Mexico last May. He’s spent the last several months at a boarding facility waiting for a rescue to be able to take him. He was able to catch a ride to Louisville and is now an ACS pup! Goofy-goober Bradford is ready to steal your heart! Bradford was transferred from a high-kill shelter in Memphis, where he was found as a stray in a tree! That’s right, Bradford was found stuck about 8 feet up in a tree, so animal control officers had to climb up to help him down. No family came for him, so he was transferred to ACS. As you can probably guess, this dude is athletic to say the least. He will need an adopter who is ready to put in the time and effort to exercise him. Meet Tripp!  Tripp is a very special boy looking for a special home. Tripp was adopted from another shelter as a puppy into a home that loved him, but ultimately did not fit his needs. He is now 6 years old and to no fault of his own, is looking for a new family to love him forever. Tripp thrives in a calm, quiet environment lacking frequent change. Tripp has general anxiety about new things in life, so he will need a patient and understanding owner to guide him through this transition. He does not have separation anxiety though, he would do fine with an owner that works during the day as he is crate trained but also not destructive if left out. Meet Charlie!

Charlie is a 5 month old pup that came to ACS with his brother after his owner sadly passed away.  Prior to arriving they had not been socialized very much, but Charlie has done amazing and even attended an event with us recently.  He is all puppy, but a big pup at around 40lbs.  Charlie has been neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped.  Charlie is good with other dogs and people. Chase is an adorable 8yr old Maltese/Bichon.  Sadly, Chase’s dad passed away and his mom could no longer care for him, so he came under the care of Animal Care Society.

Chase is a little guy at 14lbs. He is good with other animals, both dogs and cats, but prefers a quiet household. While Chase is good with pets, he can be picky about his humans. Chase can be sweet and cuddly, but other times he needs his space wants to be left alone and he will let you know. Chase Loves going for car rides and out for adventures. He’s very well behaved when he’s out and he thoroughly enjoys food of all kinds. He has some personality quirks at home, so a patient home that will give him space at times would be ideal. Meet Milo!

Milo has had a rough start in life. His owner moved to Texas and left Milo behind with a family member who said he would find Milo a new home. However, Milo is a big dog and the new caretaker didn’t want him in the house. He was also having trouble finding someone to adopt him, so Milo stayed tied to a tree for 3 months while at this person’s house, with nothing more than a few feet of room to be able to move around. Milo was eventually turned in at a local veterinary office, and they contacted ACS to see if they could help sweet Milo, and of course they said yes! How could anyone turn down this cutie?!

Milo is 1.5 years old and 55 pounds. He has a beautiful, shiny brindle coat and adorable ears. He enjoys playing with other dogs, walks nicely on a leash and is crate trained. He is truly awesome. Dice is an adorable 2 year old American Pitbull Terrier that came to The Animal Care Society after his owner sadly passed away. Our dog this week will be Princeton. Princeton is a ROCKSTAR! American Bulldog mix, barely a year old and is fantastic with dogs of all sizes, cats, kids and loves everyone. Princeton has been to a couple events with us where he is perfectly behaved. He loves going to the park, for car rides, trips to the store and just being around people.
